Efficiency, you and me

We know the value of not being wasteful. God declares that one who is wasteful is 'the sibling of the Devil'. Now, that is the basis of efficiency and effectiveness, which is the root of prosperity.

Efficiency is to be practised at micro-level by everyone who uses any resource at all. Yes, do turn the lights off when they ought to be turned off -- and do so promptly. That action saves the environment from untold overburden, which in turn saves the taxpayers' big money in its restoration, conservation and management!

Of course, at macro-level, it means effectiveness, which is the realm of our leaders. Do not carry out any cost-ineffective project or development as it effectively wastes resources; select one which is cost-effective instead, nay, select one that gives the best return.

Being habitually efficient and effective amplifies the benefits and keeps costs down to their absolute minimum.

Yes, efficiency is for you and me, and effectiveness is for our leaders. When you and I have begun to appreciate and realise the value of efficiency, our conscience will clearly look for effective persons as our worthy leaders. Of course, no one wants to stand beside the Devil as his sibling-in-arms in front of the Lord, right?
